how should i prepare for a tattoo appointment?
sleep well, eat a quality meal, and drink plenty of water before the tattoo. wear comfortable, loose clothing with access to the placement area. don’t forget to bring your valid gov’t ID, mask, and water bottle.
exfoliating, as well as moisturizing the tattoo placement area often, and drinking lots of water before a tattoo makes a big difference in the skin’s ability to retain ink.
if you have thick hair in the placement area, shaving carefully beforehand is appreciated but not required.
other optional items to bring:
fidget, plushie, snack, headphones, personal entertainment. :)
can i flip through your flash book ahead of time?
sure! click here for flash book tattoo info and a book flip-through video. you can also take your time checking it out at the studio during your tattoo appointment.
what is the parking situation at your studio?
free street parking is almost always available right outside the studio. there is also a small, 4-car lot on our side of the building that you can park in if a spot is available.
when are you booking next?
flash and one-off tattoo designs are dropped every 2-3 months on my website. currently taking a break from taking on new-client custom requests. repeat clients can email custom ideas my way at any time, though i cannot take on every project.
booking updates are shared via free patreon newsletter, and booking is done through this website as well as email.
how does your booking process work?
flash: when pre-drawn designs are available on the flash page of my website, you can claim one by selecting the piece you like, paying a $50 deposit up-front, and scheduling your tattoo appointment on the “book” page.
the password for the “book” page can be found in your purchase confirmation email.
custom (CURRENTLY CLOSED): when custom books are open, submit a form to request a custom tattoo on the custom page of my site, and i’ll email you back to let you know if i can take on the project in the given time frame or not. if chosen, a $50 deposit will be required up-front to book the custom tattoo.
can i bring a friend to my appointment?
our studio is tiny! if bringing one friend will greatly improve your comfort level, please do, but it is encouraged to come alone—space can get tight when my studio-mate and i are both working at the same time.
do you require tips?
tips are not required, but very appreciated!
non-monetary items i’d love as a tip:

what style of tattoos are a good fit for you?
in terms of style/feeling; i like doing whimsical, graphic, line-based illustrative tattoos.
in terms of application; stylized linework-only, hatching (line-shading), and stipple (dot shading) styles are my favorite for black ink tattoos, and i love adding flat color pops to my illustrative designs too.
conceptually; i really enjoy doing tattoos relating to nature/biology, femininity, spirituality, oddities, the occult, life/death, surrealism, psychedelia, and nostalgia/childhood wonder/the inner child.
or whateva.
POLICIES
late arrival/no-show policy:
please notify me via email if you’re running late - i can usually accommodate when given notice. :)
if you haven’t arrived for your appointment within 15 minutes of the appointment start time, and haven’t notified me that you’re running late, it is considered a no-call no-show. your deposit will be forfeit, and i will not tattoo you that day (even if you do arrive after 15 minutes).
if you no-call, no-show a second time, you will no longer be able to book appointments with me.
if you no-call, no-show a free touch up appointment, i will require a $50 fee up front to book a new touch up appointment.
communication is key! respect my time, i promise to respect yours :)
deposit policy:
when booking a tattoo, i take a $50 deposit up-front in order to reserve your design and appointment time. that $50 deposit is taken out of the total price of the tattoo, so on the day of the appointment, you will owe the total cost minus the deposit amount :)
deposits are non-refundable.
numbing cream policy:
i am no longer comfortable tattooing skin with numbing cream applied. the FDA warns against using numbing cream for tattoo purposes. i have bactine (4% lidocaine spray) for mid-tattoo pain relief.
design usage/ownership policy:
all rachelradiant artwork/designs are original (unless stated otherwise) and protected under intellectual property copyright laws. designs are owned, and only to be tattooed, by me (rachelradiant). i retain the right to use my original artwork to promote my business (this includes merch, prints, branding, promo posts, etc.) in perpetuity.
cancel/reschedule policy:
if you need to cancel/reschedule for any reason with more than 48 hours notice, you can go back to your appointment confirmation email and click “change/cancel” to pick a new time, or cancel, at your convenience. with 48hr+ notice, you do not need to contact me directly about the reschedule/cancellation.
if you need to cancel/reschedule for any reason with less than 48 hours notice, please let me know directly as soon as possible via email.
in the case of emergency/illness arising within 48 hours of the appointment, please let me know asap. i will honor your deposit and reschedule your appointment.
cancellation/rescheduling within 48 hours of the appointment for non-emergency reasons and/or without giving notice will result in forfeiture of your deposit, and you will need to place a new deposit to schedule a new appointment.
i hold myself to the same standards—i will only reschedule our appointment last minute if illness or a genuine emergency pops up, and i will communicate with you you as soon as possible in any case.
hourly rate/pricing policy:
my hourly rate is $185/hour. hourly rate applies to custom tattoos only.
the hourly clock starts at the appointment start time, or whenever we start the session in the case of early start/me running behind on appointments/etc.
final hourly tattoo rate is calculated by rounding to the nearest 15 minute mark once the appointment is finished.
my minimum tattoo pricing is $200.
flash tattoo pricing is listed ahead of time with a pricing range, or flat-rate.
